Funny you mentioned that, HDH. My daughter, fresh from college (3 years ago) and working for a Pentagon contractor texted me last month asking for the definition of Bravo Zulu. (She's a pilot, so she knows the phonetic alphabet.) She had rec'd it in an email from a Naval contact. Not being Navy, I had to Google it.

She was pleased!

Saw her from the opposite side of the Kennebec River the other day. One weird looking ship.
 
Looks like the Zumwalt may be almost invisible to shipboard radar but I'll bet airborne radar can see her easily. At some altitude and ranges perhaps even better than a typical ship.


How would you like a trawler like that? Could be a little wet.
 
If more visible to airborne radar...then it's a total waste of money as sea engagements since WWII have been almost entirely trading blows from aircraft/missiles.
 
How I would love to be a plank owner on her!
