Thank you thank you Don.

I cropped that one a little and slightly changed 4 or 5 things like "saturation" and "contrast". Here's the original.

Small changes can make a snappy pic from a so so pic I've found. Not much change on this one though. Actually this one says "copy" too so the original may be lost. No I see that it's a "copy" of the original. So this is as the camera took it. My modifications are small and I may not have improved it. The biggest "mod" is cropping down the amount of "framing" trees and dark looking beach.

Copeland Islands near Desolation Sound.
The Coors Light in the photo is purely coincidental...

Great picture. It has captured a lot of the mood going on there.:thumb:

"Miss Ruby" was a looper boat passing through Michigan. I was intrigued by the design, so launched off on a quest to learn what it was. Turned out to be a custom build from a yard in the Northeast. From that I was able to track down the owners to send them the photo. Sadly the husband had passed away not long before I located an address. But I got a nice note from the spouse who said the photo brought back fond memories....she had just sold the boat.

So as it turns out it is indeed more than just a picture for someone.

I took this photo of my brother-in-law waving good by as we left the dock a few years back. It was the last time I saw Jim aboard the boat, as he passed away not long thereafter....I think my camera might be jinxed. In any case, the photo now hangs in the salon of that ol' boat...which has been in the same family for close to 50 years. Worth a thousand...memories.

Hey!!! Knock it off, windmill!!! That's my wife!!

:dance::dance::rofl::dance::dance:

But I will admit that it's one of my favorites of her!

Those of you who have been on my boat probably recognize my Bruce anchor.

Gene I love that picture.

The boat's name is "Blade" right?

I remember mostly the stern of your boat in your avatar.

You're gonna start posting again right?:thumb:

Tortoise,
Good pic. Very white boat .. as pleasure boats should be.

Skidgear, you definitely have an eye for the camera. Love the boat, and of course the color scheme is smashing. It is also a beautiful setting.

Your brother-in-law looked too young to be nearing the end of his journey. My condolences to you and the family. That photo is a great remembrance. Life does throw curves.
