I'm assuming you mean other ideas for the overhead and not just general stowage.
How about a couple nice springy wooden slats with easy to trip latches?
Looks nicer than the net, buckles don't foul the net and when you need them all fast, hit the latches and all hit the floor fast. Fabric between them if less visual of the bight orange is desired.
