How's the interior space?

Can't speak for Great Laker but we have the 34 as well. the interior is practical and roomy for a 34. Lots of natural light. We looked at bigger boats and found the 34 felt as big as some 37 and 40's. Just my 2 cents. :)

Stand up engine room?

Hatch to each side of engine from pilot house.
Three step ladder down with about 4 foot engine room height.
Not full stand up except through hatch.

Three DC fluorescent lights plus AC plug.
All mechanicals, generator and water heater fully accessible.
Substantial storage for tools, spares and 2 folding bikes.

Super clean!

Actually, Great Laker is a 2005 hull (and 2006 model). We have cruised her over 7K mi in the last 3 years, including most of the Great Loop. Luckily, both my wife and I are quite fastidious and during this time we have strived to keep her like new. It has turned out to be quite straightforward due to her limited size, no external wood and the nature of the internal finishes.

I am assuming that is QSB Power??? How many HP and will it cruise on plane? I remember I saw Hull #1 at the Miami Boat Show in.....2000??? Although only 2ft bigger than a N32, it is closer in size to the N37!!! Very fine boats!!!!!

Thanks Art. We will be posting the refurbishment as it progresses. The Admiral has requested a period correct interior color scheme so Seafoam it is!

While the boat was originally designated an AT 34, it is now referred to as an AT 365 as it measures 36 ft 6 in. Same hull, different name. I believe TOMCO has built over 140 of this size since 2001.

Yes, the engine is a QSB 380 common-rail turbo. It will do a maximum of 20 mph at 3,000 rpm and cruise at 14 mph at 2,400 rpm. I typically run about 9 mph at 1,450 rpm and 2.5 gph.

Thanks for the info, Larry. I have always been a fan!!! They had that hull #1 at the Miami Boat Show for $199k!!!! I remember thinking what a great deal that was at the time. I know they are much more expensive now and can't find a used one at that price.

Nice choice! I have always admired the OAs and have owned a 42. No thruster, huh? How big is the rudder?

Rudder?? big enough!

I budgeted to install a thruster (self install) when I bought the boat. During the sea trial the Broker wouldn't let me bring it into the dock and from the mess he made of the landing I figured she was a pig regarding handling.
What a pleasant surprise to find it really handles well (and from the way he handled the boat I didn't think he new dick about boat handling anyway)
I now have no plans to install a thruster. Volunteer had one and I figured if I stood a chance for the Admiral to get used to docking the O.A. it had to have a thruster. The admiral actually praises the handling and in her opinion it " handles like a car ".. as if that is a a good thing.
As to the build quality it appears pretty decent and the boat was completely rewired professionally at some point so it only has the teak decks and the steel tanks to really remain as big possible issues.
As the previous owner put twice what I paid for it into the boat in six years.. not including the original purchase price of $ 120,000 I am really happy with where I am in regard to cost.
With the layout it has to be one of the biggest feeling 40' boats I have ever been aboard... and has a great eco cruise speed.

We have had her for just over a year. Powered by a Detroit 8v71 not sure of the wheel size. It was a great deal but needs lots of tlc. We are having lots of fun though

Nice....Realistically, a boat about that size and configuration would be my dream boat. Just a tad larger than our 36' but more room where it counts most, yet not too big for berthing, maintenance shorthanded crewing etc. Our equivalent here would be the big brother to my Clipper 34, the Clipper 40.

Nimble Nomad

Our Nimble Nomad trawler "Sweet Pea" is hull#1 and was designed by the well known sailboat designer Ted Brewer. She was built in 1990 and we have owned her since 1994.
It is trailerable but we have not trailered her in quite a while and resides on a lift behind our house here in St.James City,Fl.
We do lots of day trips and a few overnighters as our area is perfect for cruising.
