Yokosuka was a major base for the IJN in WWII. Several drydocks and repair shops. It's where those destroyers got temporary repairs after running into cargo ships.

I’m absolutely sure you’re right. Notice the ID plate it’s a dead ringer for a USN machine plate. I worked in Yoko back in 90-91 and I gotta say they have two of the largest graving docks I’d ever seen. As the home of the Seventh Fleet there is a lot of repairs and alterations at this facility. I liked it over there
