Bahamas and safe harbor?

Hi , we are prepping our DeFever 44 for Bahamas cruising over the next two years or so. If our plans work out we should be crossing over around March next year. Rather than bring her back during the hurricane season we would prefer to keep her in the Bahamas and find a safe harbor if needed, ideally with the option of putting her on the hard if a named storm is coming through. Do any other members have any recommendations or experience with cruising and making safe harbour in the Bahamas during hurricane season?

Problem being that if you decide to put boat on the hard when a named storm is on the way, there might not be any room for you. Better to put it on the hard in June.

The other problem, is just what constitutes a "safe harbor" in the Bahamas . . . . . Lots of people had their boats on hard in either Marsh Harbor, or Green Turtle Key . . . . Just sayin'!

Abaco Yacht Services (AYS) in Black Sound Green Turtle Cay is a well regarded boat yard. I know several cruisers who have stored their boats there during the summer. All had goods things to say. You would need to contact them to check on availability. They did suffer a direct hit and most of the boats were destroyed during Dorian. But that risk is present anywhere in the Bahamas or East Coast of US.

We sat out 2 potentially problematic storms in great harbour cay marina in the Berrys. Pretty tucked in, but no yard to haul.I

Pretty much the same problem. Just in Cancun, MX for a major repair.
Plan is to move the boat either to Progreso, MX or to the Bahamas from early March to December.
Any recommendations for the Southern Bahamas? Wouldn’t be as far as the Abacos.
