Mine was too. Had a captain for training that we didn't get charged for, had connections for repairs that were needed and was a great guy all around.

So I paid a few grand more to get what I needed? On a hundred grand deal?

So my reaction to some of the far out tales is WOW!
I'm not so sure that the a broker would be in a position to avoid some of these situations. Do you think a couple thugs that can over power a couple would be deterred by a broker? Do think a brokers license would do anything against a couple thugs that may even (likely) be armed... do brokers come with armed guards for a sea trial?
I am not against brokers... I've used them in some cases and have done it without broker or surveyor in other cases... IMO it depends on the specifics of the situation. Sure anyone can cite cases where it makes absolute sense but I can also think of situations where it may not.

I would say that for experienced buyers, brokers not needed. You guys know the drill.

For first timers who don't even know how to start the engines...worth every penny!
