Just joined the group. Me and the wife intend in water travelling and living upon retirement. We've been eyeing a 1986 nova sundeck with twin perkins as of late. Basically be our halftime home and loop boat, plus short getaways with the grand kids

Welcome aboard. Yes, no link to the boat.

Sorry cant seem to get the link to upload. Currently considering a 86 nova sundeck. If you look for the roustabout, that's the boat. It's in kentucky on the ohio, so water way travel to get it home works. Has twin perkins but they have 4400 hours on them. Like I mentioned would be used to water travel, riverside and loop boat once retired. Week plus excursions with the grandkids as well.

Trying again

Hopefully it posts photo this time

I don't see it on boattrader. Can you cut/paste a link to the ad?

Have always been a fan of the older Perkins. The extra hp when you want it to move in a tight situation is a good feeling. Hours don't scare me if it was maintained. Would want to see oil analysis if possible.
For long term peace of mind would suggest replacing external oil hoses if they have not been. Especially if turbo engines. The braided cover over these lines make it impossible to see the actual condition, and if original, which is very possible, they are 34 years old.

Thanks all information is appreciated. Only had small river boat as of yet. Look forward to being able to spend more time on the water. Finally got the link to post. Take a look and any additional advice is appreciated
