Well we decided to take the trash compactor out to do more storage. Ended up putting in two drawers (My Dad made them) and a wire shelving thing. Really made a difference in organizing the galley.

What things have you done to help with storage on your boat? Always looking for ideas.

We took out the 120 volt icemaker refer in the cockpit of our boat. It only runs off 120 and I don’t want to run the genset continuously. Also to change the secondary fuel filter on the port engine you had to pull out the refer and open a hatch below it to get to the filter. We had a plexiglass door made by Boatoutfitters.com to cover the opening. Looks great and now we store all our inflatable PFDs in there. The opening isn’t square, what is on a boat, so when the SeaDek guy was out templating the decks I had him template the opening and I sent the file to Boatoutfitters and they made the door to fit the opening. They did query me as to why I wanted a door that wasn’t square…

I was staring at my ice maker below the "wet bar" in the aft of my salon, wondering why I needed a small ice maker there when the full size fridge/freezer had a big ice maker in it. I could take the ice maker out, but I'm not sure I need more storage... perhaps the save on the electricity drain. (I don't even need that "wet bar" area but its there and is fine.

Anyone think there is a reason I should keep the small ice maker?

I really like ice cold drinks but we have taken the icemakers out of the last 2 boats and just drink the drinks out of the refer. When they get too warm we put them back in the refer and grab a different cold one.

Anyone want a non-functioning Icerette? It is coming out of the bar in the salon and I am replacing with storage. Love to see more ideas of what to put in.
