We'd opt for the trash compactor, as we've been washing dishes by hand for nearly 10 years now. Especially when at anchor, it's become kind of zen thing gazing out the galley window right over the sink... When out for a month or two at a time, being able to significantly diminish the amount of space trash takes up would be most welcome.
