    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)

    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)

    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.

Built as a Universal 39, this fiberglass-hulled beauty received an extensive, professional refit in 2005 which included a 4-foot swim-step extension, bringing her length to 43' overall. The list of upgrades is extensive and detailed below. The present owner purchased the vessel in 2012 and commissioned the same shipyard to complete additional upgrades prior to bringing her to Alaska, where she spent the next five years exploring Prince William Sound. In 2017 the yacht returned to Puget Sound waters and the same highly-experienced boat yard for further work, bringing "Room Seven" to her current top-notch, cruise-ready configuration.

INTRODUCTION

"Room Seven" is equally well configured for weekend cruising and long passage-making voyages. She has traveled from Puget Sound to Southcentral Alaska and back in safety and comfort. The accommodations are warm and efficient, and the chef's galley has been a highlight of many memorable voyages for owners and guests. Deck space has been optimized for flexibility, lending itself to offshore fishing excursions, technical scuba diving expeditions, a base for kayaking and wilderness exploration, and many other operations that demand space for gear and personnel.
Reliable twin Perkins 6-354 marine diesels yield a cruising speed of 7.8 knots at just over 4 gallons per hour at 1750 RPM, giving "Room Seven" a cruising range of just over 800 nautical miles.

The vessel is equipped with a 110-volt power inverter in addition to a 6Kw diesel generator for reliable power at anchor or underway. A 10-foot rigid Bull Frog dinghy equipped with a low-hours 15 HP Suzuki outboard is included.

SWIM-STEP & AFT DECK

The large custom swim-step accommodates a hydraulic Hide-a-Davit dinghy-lift, which securely holds the tender out of the water, while permitting easy push-button deployment for shore excursions. There is a hatch that accesses the interior of the swim-step and provides "damp storage" for items such as buoys, crab pots, a spare anchor, etc.

From the swim step, ascend and open the transom door for access to the covered walk-around deck, which affords a spacious "landing zone" aft of the main cabin. There is a hatch here that accesses a flexible-use lazarette with built-in storage shelving and access to the black-water tank, as well as the hydraulics for the davit-lift system and the autopilot rudder controls. A sliding door forward permits access to the spacious and inviting main cabin, to which we shall return momentarily.

As built, the boat included teak decking which has been professionally removed and replaced with a durable painted fiberglass surface for secure footing and ease of maintenance. The original teak handrails and gunwales have been retained and are beautifully varnished, giving the boat a warm and classic look.

UPPER DECK & STEERING STATION

From the aft deck, a ladder ascends through a custom, swing-up stainless steel hatch cover to the upper deck, which extends completely over the full walk-around main deck. The upper deck has been configured for maximum flexibility. It is equally perfect for sun-bathing and evening cocktails, or as storage space for kayaks or storage containers and equipment to support a long cruise. Forward of the open upper deck space is a custom stainless steel radar arch and a canvas-covered Bimini canopy over the upper steering station. There are two built-in, two-sided benches with removable seat panels for access to additional storage. The same classic teak handrail continues around the back and sides of the upper deck.

A hinged access panel forward permits access to vented storage for propane cylinders and additional stowage. The radar unit is mounted to a custom swing-down mount which provides additional clearance for utilizing covered moorage, yet locks securely in its operating configuration while underway. Heavy-duty stainless steel tie-down points have been added to the upper deck, permitting secure stowage of kayaks or other equipment while underway.

FORE-DECK

Returning to the main level, from the aft deck you can walk forward along both sides of the main salon. You will find two additional sliding doors, one port adjacent to the galley, the other starboard next to the lower helm. From either side, a single step up takes you to the spacious forward deck with additional stowage space for long voyages. An electric Cheetah winch holds the plow anchor which is linked to 200 feet of galvanized chain for ground tackle.

From the wrap-around deck, choose any of the three sliding doors to enter the expansive, light-filled main cabin. The salon features a wide open space with extensive windows affording a 360 degree view, accented by warm woodwork that evokes the feel of a classic motor-yacht.

SALON & GALLEY

In the galley, there is a Force 10 propane 4-burner stove/oven, a large forward-facing sink, and expansive granite countertops for cooking and serving. A custom under-counter Sea Freeze refrigerator with remote compressor has lots of cold storage space, while custom cabinetry completes the welcoming and efficient galley. There is a sliding door opening directly off the galley on the port side which opens to the walk-around deck.

Aft of the galley are two seating areas. An L-shaped upholstered settee faces the custom-made collapsible dining table, which turns into an additional bunk for expanded crew or guest sleeping. A second settee on the port side is comfortably positioned, with lots of storage for provisions under both settees. A diesel-fired hydronic Hurricane furnace keeps the salon toasty, and a flat-screen television swivels for comfortable viewing from both the salon and the galley.

LOWER HELM

The lower helm station shares the main level with the salon and galley. The helm was carefully thought out and customized by the present owner during the boat's 2012 refit. It features twin Garmin GPSMap 7212 chart plotters coupled with two auxiliary Garmin GSD 24 displays which together provide navigational support and systems monitoring data. Additional equipment includes Garmin GMR 404 HD radar, Garmin 200VHF radio, Garmin GHP 10 autopilot, and dual Flowscan N2K diesel flow meters. A custom fold-down, leather-upholstered captain's chair is electrically heated for comfort, and can be stowed to permit easy use of the adjacent sliding door which opens to the starboard side of the covered walk-around deck.

STATE ROOMS & HEAD

Between the galley and the helm, steps descend to the forward accommodations. A stateroom is situated on the port side, with the single head situated across the corridor on the starboard side. Forward is the second stateroom with twin V-berth bunks. Both staterooms feature hanging lockers, under-bed storage drawers, additional storage ledges and warm wood paneling.

The well-appointed head features an electric freshwater-flush toilet, a stand-up shower, and a sink with ample counter space.

ENGINE ROOM

Returning again to the main cabin level, there are lift-off floor hatches which permit access to two separate below-deck compartments. With access between the galley and the helm, the engine room has been thoughtfully organized and maintained. There is adequate space for inspection and service of the twin Perkins 6-cylinder diesel engines, each of which is paired to a straight-drive reduction gear, twin disc transmission with a 2.44:1 gear ratio. Outboard of each engine is a 200-plus gallon fuel tank. A removable hatch between the engines accesses the starting battery bank.

COMMISSARY

Aft of the engine room, accessible either by a lift-off floor hatch in the main salon or through a below-deck access hatch connected to the engine room, is an efficient commissary space. Here you will find the twin 150-gallon (300 gallons total) stainless steel water tanks, which can be isolated or connected with a cross-valve. The Hurricane diesel furnace is on the port side. On the starboard side is the remote compressor for the galley refrigerator, as well as a spacious tool box. Amidships aft is situated the 6 KW diesel Northern Lights diesel generator connected to a quiet water-muffled exhaust system. The commissary affords excellent storage for equipment and stores for lengthy cruises; in fact, some guests refer to it as "the wine cellar". A lift-off floor hatch accesses the double 8D house battery bank.

SUMMARY

"Room Seven" has been professionally refitted and expertly maintained. Complete repair records are available in PDF form, as are two marine surveys, from 2021 and 2018. PM the owner with any questions or to request emailed copies or additional photos.

A covered 50-foot condominium slip at Anchor Cove Marina in Anacortes, Washington is available to a new owner either via purchase, or on a negotiable lease from the seller.

Still available -- Yard work underway

Room Seven is still available for sale & seeking a new skipper. She is currently on the hard for bottom paint, zinc renewal, and a few other odds & ends. Just obtained a brand-new survey from one of the most experienced trawler surveyors on the West Coast, which I will share with an interested prospective buyer.

I will be listing with a broker in a month or two, so there is flexibility now on price that will disappear once there is a broker commission involved. I will post some out-of-the-water pics as soon as the bottom paint goes on.
