JD6068AFM75 J1939 Pin out

I have a John Deere 6068AFM75 with J1939 6 pin connector. I recently purchased a J1939 to N2K gateway and am trying to find the JD J1939 pin out. A google search has been unsuccessful thus far.

Anyone have the J1939 pin out for John Deere 6068? Thanks

Sea Level thanks for the inputs. I had previously looked in the manual but couldn’t find as I was looking for something that looked like the 6 pin deutsch connector on the instruments. On page 156 I found the schematic showing pin 1 V+, pin 3 data +, pin 4 data - and pin 6 V-. Now the question is if the PIN number references are consistent amongst the industry? My J1939/N2K device is showing pin 1 in the upper left when looking at the upright female connector with pins 2 and 3 below. While pin 6 is in the upper right with pins 5 and 4 below it. See attached photo for reference. I had thought the J1939 connector would be consistent in the industry but it looks like my JD is swapped with what my J1939/N2K device is expecting.

By the way what was your role in the commissioning of KK52-01?

I don't think there is any standard connector or pinout for J1939. Sounds like you N2K to J1939 has a Deutsch connector? Who's converter is it? I suspect the thing to do is just swap around the pins on the converter to match the JD connector.


You might also find another connector on the JD that is just J1939 for the instrumentation and display. It's a three pin triangular Deutsch connector, and might have a terminator plug on it.

Yes the J1939 pin out between my yacht devices YDEG-04 J1939 to N2k gateway was different than what my John Deere was wired. The J1939 uses 6 pin Deutsch connectors so relatively easy to swap the wires around. On my setup the red/black wires were the typical voltages, while Yellow was data high (think sun) and green was data low (think grass). After swapping the wires the gateway is working perfectly.

Great news. All the Deeres I've worked with use yellow and green for CAN. Another way to sort out the + and -, if you remember about color temperatures, is that the positive color is "always" the hotter color, and the negative is the cooler color. "Always" is a dangerous word in boats, but I've seen this to be pretty universally true. And not just for J1930 or N2K, but for 0183 too.
