Exterior Timber above Deck - H3 or H4??

Hi Again!

I am going to be building a large sun lounge at the front of my trawler. It will be completely painted and sealed, however I am using treated pine for the frame work.

Question - H3 or H4 timber? It isnt under-cover and will be subject to getting wet - but isnt sitting in water at all.

Would love some feedback!

If you are using treated lumber do not use S.S. screws and do not paint it for at least two years. If you paint it too soon the paint will just fall off.

Hey Pete,

Thanks mate! Whats the reason for not using SS screws in treated timber?

Also, I thought I could paint the treated timber with a good oil based undercoat before painting with a finished coat??
