Yes I am on the left coast of Canada where the politics are similar to Seattle, Portland or Berkeley.

I think anyone wanting to...

I just looked up what the rules are, and of course every state and province is different, but it looks like as long as the 'guest' stays less than 30 days, they have no tenant's rights and do not...

No, there is a real difference now in the 'tenants rights' of long term tenants vs short term.

It's so drastic that I think it tilts the balance completely in favour of having short term tenants....

Being a landlord

I am not sure being a landlord is a good idea for anyone these days, but I also think if I was I'd prefer AirBnB to a long term tenant.

My brother has a rental condo in a resort designed for short...

Thanks I'll take a look. I do like the Kadey Krogens. My backup plan for insurance is to maybe put my brother's name on it, and have him help me until I get up to speed. he's a licensed captain as he...

The only thing I can see marinas being really convenient for is shore power. But that's a big one isn't it?

4300 sq feet

I'm also very skeptical that he has insurance (or coverage for this event), a lawyer or has sent anything for testing.

No sane person would refuse to make a claim on insurance, if they could.
