I just turned 70, and my boat will be 40 next year. I think a 10 year life on the thread I used will get me to a point where neither me nor the boat is going to care!:D:D:D:D

My "cutting knife" is a little 30 watt soldering iron with a fat tip that holds heat but has a sort of knife edge as well. Set a straight-edge against it, and it'll cut a great non-fraying edge...
