Boat is staying on hard until next summer for all my other projects.

Knowing this, yard says let it dry until next spring and then epoxy fill/barrier, paint it and use the heck out of it.

The trapezoid shape is the question. It appears to be welded/attached to the core rudder which is basically undisturbed. I'm 99% sure I can carefully take it off with no consequences to the rudder...
