2009 Selene 43 Ocean Trawler

We are ready to move up in size, so our 2009 Selene 43 is for sale at $549,000. Purchased in October 2018 as third owner. Our home port is Madisonville, LA which is in the Greater New Orleans area.

Painkiller features a two stateroom and two head layout, comfortable pilot house, functional salon and galley, safe walk around decks, dependable power and all of equipment one would want for extended cruising…plus the proven pedigree of a serious offshore cruiser.

Master Stateroom
Master stateroom is forward with a queen berth, plenty of storage including two cedar lined hanging lockers, deck access hatch with pull down ladder, four port holes. The private head with a large separate stall shower and fresh water flush Tecma electric head is to starboard. The décor is teak and holly flooring and satin finished teak paneling and cabinetry, granite head vanities.

Guest Stateroom
Next aft and to port is the GSR with upper and lower berths, plenty of storage and a double fold door that when open creates a nice foyer/landing area. The guest head is to port with a separate stall shower and Tecma electric head system.

Salon/Galley
Engine room access is aft from the foyer area and thru a water tight door.

Access to the main salon is aft, to port and up four steps.

This well laid out area features the full U-shaped galley forward, a built in L-shaped settee to port and aft with a large teak dining table on a slide and extra flip up leaf, two chairs with ottomans to starboard and the salon TV built in to the aft face of the galley bar and hidden behind a slide panel.

The fully equipped galley has granite counter tops, propane three burner stove and oven with three propane tanks in special bow locker, double stainless-steel sink, GE Profile microwave/convection oven, overhead glass storage and plenty of cabinet storage including an under floor pantry area with an additional deep freezer, Splendide combo washer and dryer, upright Sea Freeze AC/DC refrigerator freezer.

The décor is teak paneling and cabinetry with natural teak and holly flooring though out, beige cushions and blinds.

Two Big Bay 17” monitors for black box input of the Furuno NAVnet 3D radar and plotter, Interphase forward looking sonar, Simrad APU 300 autopilot (new 2019 and $11,700.00 invested), Icom ICM 504 VHF, one Maretron digital readouts for depth/speed/engine data/wind speed & direction, 22” Samsung flat screen TV, Sat TV receiver, AM/FM/CD stereo system, Big Bay 10” monitor with Furuno control panel (FB), Icom ICM 504 VHF, Furuno AIS, Iridium SAT phone (inactive), 2-6” Ritchie compasses, KVH stabilized Sat TV antenna (inactive).

Deck
Portuguese deck with storage inside, riding seat forward, full walk around decks with hi bulwarks all around and teak handrails and sunbrella covers, fiberglass molded non-skid decks, dual anchor chutes with a CQR and a plow anchors and electric Muir chain windlass with remote helm operation, fresh water and sea water forward wash down on bow, stainless steel rails, window frames and hardware, vinyl mesh window covers, cockpit fresh water shower, bow samson post, mast and boom with electric winch for tender deployment, port, starboard and aft deck boarding gates, sunbrella bimini top with 1.25 stainless frame, fiberglass swim platform with “staple style” safety rails, aft deck storage cabinet, Kahlenberg air horns, ACR RCL 100 remote electric spotlight, AB hard bottom inflatable tender with 20hp 4 stroke Yamaha (2019 service) tender with built in console and seating.

Mechanical
Single Cummins QSL 5.9lt 330 hp diesel engine with only 3198 original hours, Twin Disc MG55050 3.0:1 marine gear, dual Racor 1000 fuel water separators with vacuum gauge (main engine), fuel tank stripping system with Racor 1000 filter and flush timer, fuel tank sight gauges, blue Aeroquip oil and fuel hoses, Airsep engine air filter, emergency Y-value bilge pump to engine water pump, vinyl engine room decking, Hynautic hydraulic steering system with new $2300.00 booster pump, Northern Lights 12kw generator with 1672 hours, dual 500 Racor fuel filters with vacuum gauge, Reverso oil change system, Wesmar RS600 stabilizer system with new fins October 2018 and actuators rebuilt 2018 and $18,500.00 invested, HRO watermaker serviced and pickled July 2018 and not used since, Magnum 4kw D/C inverter, 24V D/C SidePower bow and stern thrusters, bow thruster batteries & solenoid new 8/19, 48,000 BTU Cruisaire reverse cycle air condition system, fore and aft shore power inlets for 50amp 240volt power cord, two MasterVolt 24 volt battery chargers (new 12/19 & $3200.00 invested), electric stainless steel water heater with engine heat exchanger loop, Hynautic engine controls, YACHT CONTROLLER remote control engine and bow thruster control system. All six AGM house batteries replaced in 2019. The complete engine cooling system was serviced 4/18



The Painkiller is a serious Long Range Cruiser with all of the features necessary for safe and comfortable travels as well as an obviously well maintained condition, a nice inventory of spares and numerous recent updates and maintenance including a topsides buff & polish 8/19!

Looking for twin screw, hopefully Defever. Something in 50-56 ft range. Other possibilities as well, depends on what’s available when we sell.
