Eagle 32

The Eagle 32 seems like a good fit for us. I'm in central New York, on the Erie Canal and hoping to find one for sale, or at least see one. If there is nothing closer, I will look at the Eagle 32 listed in Maryland.

I had never heard of an Eagle 32 so curiosity had me review the one for sale.
Maybe another boat you could consider would be Nordic Tugs 32 (I have one but not for sale). It looks very similar. Might expand your options as they built quite a few and there always seems to be a decent selection for sale. Might be hard to find one sub $100k but I suspect you will get most of the price delta back if you resell. Also there is a good user community for NT due to the popularity and much knowledge shared. Given there seems to be only 1 Eagle 32 for sale I am guessing it was not built in volume so hard to know what might be either the strengths nor the weakness to look out for. Also the EAGLE has a much smaller engine so while you might get a little better mpg you have no potential to hit 12-14 kts if you need or want it. Less exterior wood on most NT. Of course these may or may not be of value but thought I would share. Plus there was no response and wanted to not leave you hanging!

Very much appreciate your interest. Your impressions make a lot of sense. We did like the price point of the Eagle, but it may be an example of getting what we pay for. The NT32 is all you said and we will indeed start looking. Thank you for nudging me onto a more practical path. Again, I appreciate your response.

Ramarchant: conflicting use of terms! practical in the same context as seeking a boat :-)
Good luck and keep us updated in your search.

I love the Eagles but yes the engine is too big.
I’d be looking for a 65hp Isuzu or similar.

ramarchant,
I’m not that familiar w the Eagle’s hullform but doubt if 12 knots would be an appropriate speed.
