It seems unlikely that the requirements below are to be found (other than in new models) in anything much less than 45'. Am not looking to purchase more boat than necessary. Have been watching Yachtworld and Boattrader and surveyed a couple of possibilities.
Looking for a live aboard to satisfy two primary considerations. Cruise mostly shorthanded but also comfortable for 2 couples for periods of time.
The laundry list:
2 cabins with double/queen berths (not a converted V berth), 2 heads with not cramped showers. Need spacious salon, good galley,. Comfortable, functional layout with easy access to bow and stern. Prefer twin screws but single screw with thruster is an option.
This boat will be cruised Oregon to Alaska, primarily Puget sound area. Am Not looking for a major project boat. Engines, structural, deck integrity, overall condition must reflect pride of ownership and quality maintenance. Cosmetics and upgrades are not deal breakers. Given that this will Not be a floating dock extension seaworthiness, ground tackle, and quality gear are a higher priority than a recently waxed gelcoat.
WE all know there is no "Perfect" boat and that getting out on the water is likely preferable to dreaming endlessly. Having a clear vision of what works increases the chances of rewarding outcomes.
Boats on the eastern seaboard are not practical (unless you own a shipping company). Mexico to Alaska is doable if the vessel is ready to sail. No financing required, looking at boats from 80 -140K
PM or let me know how to contact you.
Thanks for your consideration.
