    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)

    For Sale ads MUST include:

All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Tribute is a 2004 Kadey Krogen 39 Pilothouse and is hull 43. A total of 51 hulls were built of this single engine, one stateroom, one head, full displacement hull trawler. Half of these boats do not have stabilizers and Tribute is one of them. The boat is moored in Everett, Washington and has cruised the Salish Sea and the Inside Passage to Alaska. We have not missed having stabilizers because this is an ideal boat for inside coastal cruising with an amazing range because of the twin aluminum fuel tanks that each holds 325 gallons of diesel, the 300-gallon fresh water tank, a big house battery bank and the Northern Lights generator. The John Deere, 135 HP engine is perfectly matched to the hull and the propeller. It delivers maximum torque when the boat is cruising at 7 to 8 knots and uses about 2.5 gallons an hour.

We have owned nine boats and the Kadey Krogen 39 is the best combination of design, engineering and craftsmanship. We are the third owners and are selling her because of a new chapter of our lives. When we bought her 6 years ago, there were 600 hours on the engine. Now, there is over 1,600. This trawler can be piloted from the pilothouse or the flybridge. The full walk around deck makes docking safer. The 24 volt bow thruster makes docking much easier. Anchoring with the Ultra anchor and 300 feet of chain has been worry-free. The Avon Rover dinghy (RIB made of Hypalon) with the Honda 9.9 outboard can be deployed from the roof on either side because of the electric winch.

The pilothouse is up three steps from the salon and is where we did 99% of the piloting because it was warm and comfortable and made year-round use in the Pacific Northwest possible. Heavy duty storm doors are on each side of the pilothouse. A raised bench that is nearly 7 foot long makes it very comfortable. The pilothouse bench seat also makes into a double bed. The 2004 Furuno electronics are perfectly adequate. We did add a Vesper AIS transmit and receive that uses an iPad. The Simrad autopilot is reliable and easy to use. A Splendid washer/dryer that is vented is in a cabinet near stairs to the salon.

The salon and U-shaped galley is level with the cockpit and has lots of storage. Hot water is created in the 11 gallon water heater by 120-volt AC or the Hurricane Hydronic system which can use the heat created by the engine. The stove and oven uses propane from a pair of five gallon aluminum tanks in the flybridge. Cabin heat is created by the diesel fired hydronic system or portable 120-volt space heaters. Fresh water comes from either a shore connection or the 300-gallon tank. The salon has an L-bench seat that can seat 4. We used an additional two folding chairs and sat 6 around the table. The salon has a built-in couch that makes into a queen size bed for the occasional visitors. An entertainment system uses part of a built-in bookcase. Under all of this seating is storage.

The huge cockpit is like a second room with the full enclosure. A large storage area is under the cockpit. A large door at the transom is often used. Small doors on each side are also used to enter the cockpit.

The master suite is forward and down a curving stairway. It has a walk around queen size bed with built-in drawers and large storage area. Two built-in closets, mirror and dresser complete the master suite. The head is next to the stateroom and includes an electric toilet/macerator, a separate shower stall and single sink and vanity. The stand-up engine room is two steps down from the master suite. Clean, bright and spacious, all the systems are easy to access. Lots of spare parts are included.

Moorage Note: Finding moorage in the Puget Sound area for boats over 40 feet may be difficult. Tribute’s 50-foot slip at the Port of Everett may be transferrable to the new owner. She is the new part of this large marina with many amenities.

If you are looking for a high-quality trawler for a cruising couple, check-out Tribute. She is clean and well maintained. See the website for more information: www.tribute-kadeykrogen39.com. Price is $339,000. Reasonable offers are welcome. Send your questions to me at: johnlgray425@gmail.com

We've always loved this model. The engine room with standing headroom is amazing.

Question and Answers

Thank you for sending me some questions. For everyone, here they are:

A. Does it have a water maker? It does not. With a 300 gallon tank capacity, we found that it met our cruising needs quite nicely and this included going to Glacier Bay National Park in Southeast Alaska. However, if the destinations were Mexico, the Caribbean or the Bahamas, a watermaker would be really nice to have. There is room in the engine room for a water maker.

B. Generator? Yes. The Northern Lights generator had only 20 hours on it when we bought it and was new. Today, the generator has 120 hours and most of those hours are maintenance hours to keep it healthy.

C. What is the draft and was it measured with a full load? The draft is 4'6" and was measured from the bottom paint line. That line is usually about 1 inch above the water except when the boat was carrying 6 additional people and their gear.
