Project Boat Wanted

Looking for an older fibreglass hulled project boat that could be retrofitted for the eco tourism business in the Pacific North West. Needs minimum 3 staterooms plus crew quarters.

Probably not quite enough space for your proposed idea, but I have an Islander 40 motorsailer I'm looking to get rid of. Has a forward cabin, main saloon with convertible dinette, and a separate aft cabin (crew quarters?). I bought it a number of years ago as a rehab project which hasn't worked out for several reasons, mainly wife's health and mobility. Hence the move to a single level trawler.

Issues: Structurally sound but in pretty poor condition systems-wise and cosmetically; pretty much a complete rehab needed. And it's on the hard on the east coast and would need to be trucked to...wherever. On the positive side, I'd let it go for a song - even an out of tune one.

I’d walk around some dry storage yards in BC and Washington and talk to boat yard managers. They all have some boats that the owners had a dream. In some cases the boat yard may already own the boat or is in the process of owning it so they would readily make a deal.

What size and type boat are you looking for? Accomadations only isn’t much for us to go on.

Obviously depends on the vessel but I’m expecting 80’ min to get what we need for space.

In no pro, but a 80' older boat is most likely a steel hull.

A wise man once said, if you like project boats, light 1000.00 on fire and watch it burn. If you find enjoyment in this, continue on. If you cry, walk away.

Thanks Ron. Probably right but have all fibreglass hulls escaped the storm damage over the past couple if seasons?

Something like this would make a lot more sense than a project boat especially if you could get in for 80% of the asking price. https://www.denisonyachtsales.com/ya...lorida/7218288

She’s a nice vessel and worth a look. I am an owner in a small boutique yacht repair business in Vancouver thus the interest in a project boat.
