    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)

  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Either ran outta projects to do on William or finally bought that Alaskan. Either way William will fill its next owner with pride for sure.

Thanks Craig . We missed out on the Alaskan .

The outer reef has a similar hull the eagle 32.....hum....

Marty,
I was think'in the same thing ... that the hulls were similar. I think the E32 is almost identical to many gillnet/combination boats in the PNW especially Canada. I know I have seen pics of your hull but some time ago and the recollection is hazy. But perhaps I'm hazy on both.

Eric,

The E 32 hull is also similar to the Skookum 34. There are several S 34 in Ak as netters and trollers. The S 34 was developed as a commercial hull and was a popular boat. I owned a S 34 many years ago that was built as a pilot house trawler. In 1991 I added 3 feet to the boat and sold it in 1996. It is still here in Sitka and is a great boat.
I noticed that the OR 32 also has a similar size and shape forward trunk cabin and pilot house as the E 32. Even the the fiberglass work around the top of the pilot house is similar. Several of my commercial troller friends have noted that the E 32 would make a great little troller.

The Outer Reef was built in Fla . He only built 2 or 3 of these. He built several 26 ft and a few 36 ft .The beam is 12 ft . There is a walk thru door in v berth to engine room .
I've talked with a couple brokers about listing it and the first thing they said was it's a custom build and there are no comps, harder to sell . I may be on my own trying to sell it .

Marty,

Thank you for the information. The E 32 was designed by Ken Hanksen of Glen L. He originally sold the plans to be built in steel or plywood. A number have been built off his plans. Transpacific Marine had been building sailboats in Asia for a number years and liked the Hanksen design. They asked him to design a similar boat in fiberglass and thus was born the E 32. Transfer Pac built this as their first power boat and has since built a number of larger boats all called Eagles. Do you know the individual that designed your boat?

OD the builder/designer name of the Outer Reef is
Andre Bilodeau .

Marty,

Thank you again. Interesting that the OR 26 is also very similar to a Glen L design.

Old Deck,
The first trawler we looked at was at Gibson's Landing BC. Home built Glen L in plywood w very little paint. The broker started it and the owner had put a tin can over the dry stack exhaust. Blew the can up in the air .. can't remember where it landed. Would have bought it if the price had been right.

From pics in the past I think the Eagle stern design was (when they went to FG) taken from the stern design of the PNW combination boats like OFB's boat here on TF. Nice design that is FD but a little like a SD boat that gives a little more speed than the traditional FD hull. That is the ability to cruise a bit closer to hull speed or slightly above. The Eagle 40 is a bit more so than the 32 in this way IMO.

Plenty of afterdeck covered space .

Marty, nice boat, it would sell very fast in Alaska. Eric, Hankenson wrote an article in Sea magazine (?) about the E 32 and stated that is a SD hull. I have a copy of the article around here somewhere. The old Lehman 135 at wot only does 9.3 knots. This boat loves 6.5 to 7 knots. At 80% throttle it will do 8 knots.

Is this Outer Reef still for sale? Price and more pictures?
We took it off the market a while back and did some work on it . Might decide to try again later this year .
