Muirs usually have one side wildcat for chain, the other a drum for line. This one could be different, but...

Sorry was offline for a few days...here's what I know:

It takes Double B 3/8” High Test.

The gypsys handle both chain and braided line.

It wholesales new for $4800 plus tax and shipping.

If you fish around on my website you can get a bow view of the anchoring system: [URL="http://lenhoffboat.com/specifications/"]

I'll be on the boat tomorrow and can take photos, just text me at 310-721-4256.

Post Windless

This looks close to what I need. One thing - all my chain is 5/16" HT, so the 3/8" chain gypsy's won't work for me.

Where would I be able to get the Muir two sides 5/16" chain Gypsy's ? Do they sell them separate ? if so where ? I looked on West Marine & they did not have them.
I then checked with Fisheries Supply & they do not sell them separate according to their web site ? They show that you have to buy the whole thing to get the gypsy's ? That can't be right, can it ?

I am local to you, being in Ventura County which is about 2 hours away, & can come pick it up after I go to the bank to get the money -- IF I can find replacement gypsy's for it ?

Can you assist me with that ?

The "Muir Chain Gypsy" Part # is: MPH1200133.

Maybe someone out there on TF can assist me in getting two of these "Muir Chain 5/16" chain gypsy's" PT# MPH1200133 - that I will need to make this work for me ?

Any one have an idea.

thanks.

Mike, try Muir direct. www.muir.com.au/contact. They recently supplied another TFer with parts, or more, I think from within USA. One way or another you should get help, they are a responsive company, but remember it is Saturday here.
Never seen one with twin gypsies before, but it should be a good buy if condition is good. Usually if it is an alloy case you get some corrosion under the paint, cosmetic really, latest ones have a composite cover.

Mike,

I'm no expert, but I think this can handle 5/16. If your chain was bigger than 3/8 I would say no...but I think it will work with 5/16. Email this guy at Muir and ask him: Michael.trickery@muir.com.au

I don't always check this email, so please call my office if you want to buy the windlass 310-855-2411.

Thanks.

Here is the response I received a couple months ago from Imtra when I asked a similar question:

Quote:
Good morning Ken.

Thank you for your inquiry.

A 133 stamping on the gypsy denotes that the gypsy will handle 5/16” HT (high tensile) chain.

The stamping for 3/8” HT chain is a 112 stamping.

The gypsy part number is our MPH1200112BC. List price is $675.00. Your discounted net is $506.25. This gypsy is in stock.

I have attached a credit card form if you would like me to get one going your way.

Enjoy your day and let me know if you need anything additional.

That seems a reasonable price for such a valuable piece of machinery.

Thank you

I wanted to thank Lucky Chucky -- I purchased the 24 volt windless & it was completely as advertised.

Perfect condition.

He also shipped me the emergency lever as it was lost in his boat, & he found it & sent that to me as well, all included.

All good & he is a Great stand up guy.

Thanks you very much.

Alfa Mike
