For sale is a new, never installed Airmar transducer that reports depth, water temperature, and speed through water, all via NMEA 2000 where it can be displayed on most any NMEA 2000 compatible device like a chart plotter or general purpose display. Attached is Airmar's brochure for this product.
It's the model DST800PV-N2, and is a complete kit with a nylon thru hull fitting and removable transducer. The thru hull is just a tube, and the transducer itself plugs into the tube with a screw cap to hold it in place. It makes replacement really easy if it's needed, and can even be done with the boat in the water, though you will want to move quickly. Also included is a blank plug that fits in place of the transducer as an emergency backup.
The data reported is standard NMEA 2000 and can be displayed on pretty much any N2K display device including most modern chart plotters. There is an attached N2K cable on the transducer, so all you need to do is plug it into your network.
I bought this as a replacement because my temp sensor has crapped out, but it's a short stem model and I needed a long stem model. I painted the transducer face with transducer anti fouling paint, so it's ready to install.
This is a complete kit as delivered by Airmar, except for the packaging which I ditched.
Discount dealers sell this for about $275. I'm asking $175 and will include ground shipping anywhere in the continental US.
Thanks,
Peter
