2000 Cherubini Independence 50, Virginia Beach/Norfolk, $500k

Well-maintained trawler with all records available. Owner contact: Parke Brinkley, (757) 642-4372. Would like to sell this and move to a smaller vessel.

Overview and Design: The Cherubini Independence 50 was designed by Gary Grant and James Backus and built by skilled craftsmen at the Cherubini yard in Delran, New Jersey. The Independence 50 was built with a long keel, molded in stringers, and a hard chine aft to create a form-stable hull that does not require stabilizers to achieve stability. With a single Cummins diamond 450, the range is approximately 1,500 miles at 8 knots (9 mph). Full speed on the semi-displacement, New England lobster boat-style hull is 11.5 knots (13 mph).

Top-Quality Construction: The hull, house, and deck are hand-laid fiberglass, and the windows, doors, and hatches are top-quality aluminum models from Diamond Sea Glaze. To increase strength and reduce weight, the hull is balteck-cored down to 6” above the waterline. Solid fiberglass is used below the waterline, with the higher quality vinylester resin and ISO NPG gelcoat used to prevent osmotic blistering (unlike polyester resin and lesser gelcoat used in most boats). Double overlaps are used on the chines and keel for additional strength. Running gear is protected by a bronze shoe, and a silicon bronze tiller arm is in place for added security.

Efficiency and Maneuverability: The ever-reliable Cummins 450 Diamond 6CTA 8.3 Liter diesel engine, along with the keel and bow thruster, gives excellent accessibility, reliability, maneuverability, and efficiency with a 4.5 – 6.5 gph fuel burn at cruise.

Creature Comforts: The full-width salon boasts nicely refinished teak & holly soles, refreshed upholstery, teak cabinetry, and all the comforts of home. This includes separate washer and dryer from Bosch, all-new stainless appliances, heat and air conditioning, teak screened doors and hatches, quartzite countertops, a 28-bottle wine fridge, icemaker, satellite television, sound system, and more. Below are two staterooms, two heads with freshwater VacuFlush toilets, and a separate stand-up shower.

Actually- there is a navy blue sister ship that is in Hilton Head. I’ve seen it listed by a broker on YachtWorld for $599k.

Very nice boat....I made an offer on a green one in Canada a few years ago and I was a little too slow pulling the trigger, due to distance from the boat.

There's one at my marina. I walk by it every time I'm there. It's a beautiful boat and looks like it is a seriously purpose built cruiser. The owner has taken it from Redwood City, CA down the coast to Mexico and back a few times. He says she's a tank. She looks like a tank. It's for sale. I think it's a 2000, asking about $700k. It's at Westpoint Harbor in Redwood City, CA. I know that it's well maintained. She still looks fairly new due to the new paint job back in 2018-2019 I believe and the quality construction.

Hopefully I'm not too late with this info.

Cheers!
