1994 30/34’ Custom Downeast Cruiser For Sale

THIS BOAT HAS BEEN SOLD.

"KALEIDOSCOPE" For Sale
1994 30/34’ Custom Downeast Cruiser

My wife and I have decided it is time to move up. When we bought "KALEIDOSCOPE" we actually downsized from a Prairie 36', "Booty". If you know the boat she has massive accomodations for a 36 footer. Booty was the last Prairie 36' built and I cruised her between Florida, the Bahamas and New England from 1997 to 2001.

We went looking for the perfect small downeast cruiser, something with more speed and comfortable accomodations for two with occasional kids or friends.

"KALEIDOSCOPE" is an exceptional little cruiser that has been outfitted and upgraded by some first-class boat yards. She is more than a pocket cruiser. My wife and I have owned and loved her since 2002. We have cruised her from the Chesapeake to the Canadian border in Lake Champlain to Maine. We have been in some ferocious seas, we should not have been in and she never missed a beat. She is solid as a rock and has made a great cruising home for us for many long weekends and two week vacations. She is fast (by trawler standards), cruising comfortably at 13 knots, and economical burning only 12 GPH.

Her Background:
Hull laid by Mount Desert Island Boatworks, Manset, ME 1993
Finished by Farrin Boat Shop, Walpole, ME 1994

She is seriously for sale, as my wife and I are looking to buy a 2+ stateroom 2 head cruising boat - either a slow or fast trawler.
If you are seriously interested, I have a detailed PDF (20 page) listing I can send you, so please PM me.
Thanks,
Capt. Kirk

Thanks all for your interest.
She's certainly more than just a pocket cruiser.
She's a very comfortable home for two for extended cruises.
Being a long time trawlker owner, I can tell you the extra speed and power are very nice to have.
I have Floscan and get two or more NMPG at 8 knots or better than one NMPG at 13 knots.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kirk

My wife and I have been cruising up to and along the Maine coast for almost a month now. Can’t believe we waited so long to cruise up here. KALEIDOSCOPE is a fabulous boat to do this in for the two of us. Easy to get slips and moorings or find space in harbors. We had our 32 year old son and his girlfriend overnight for two nights - perfect. Let us know if you’d like to have a look at here before we get back to CT and put her tuck her in for the winter.
