1982 Monk 40' for sale

Unfortunately our first summer on our new trawler was not my bride's favorite thing.....

I had big dreams of cutting ties and cruising. Well we're not doing it. Yet anyway. Hopefully one day.

This 40' boat was just a bit too small for my family of six. I tried to make it work but mamma and the crew weren't happy so I'm selling the boat instead of forcing it.

All in all it's a solid boat. My father in law and I cruised it from Jacksonville, FL to Little River, SC this summer.

Some deets for meh peeps....

MONK 40 OLD SPICE ACCOMMODATIONS

Central Air Conditioning

Forward cabin features a split V, ensuite head with shower, and opening ports and hatches

Bright white galley is to the port of the lower helm, and has lots of storage space

Salon table is to the starboard of the side entrance, and has ample seating for games or meals

Master suite has a walk around double bed with storage underneath, cedar lined hanging lockers, and entrance to head with shower.

MONK 40 OLD SPICE ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Coby CD/AM/FM stereo

Bimini and Eysenglass are in good shape. Boat has been professionally rewired by the PO. Lots and lots of good stuff going for this boat. Quite a few spares. Of course a few things that need attention but they are small things in my opinion.

Starboard engine battery is tired.
One of the two fridges won't hold a freon charge.
Cracks in the windows. (No leaks just lines.)
Aft fresh water wash down spicket needs replaced.
Anchor wash down is blowing a fuse.
Probably a couple other things I can't remember.

Old Spice is currently listed with a broker on YW and for sale by me locally on Myrtle Beach, SC CL. I live about 5 hours from the boat but I'm happy to make the trip for a serious buyer.

Please feel free to ask me any questions here on the forum or through a phone call or txt. 828. four two nine 3817

I can provide an insurance survey, a hull survey and engine surveys for reference. All within the last year.

Beautiful! Sorry it didn't work out. Good luck with your sale and subsequent purchase of a bigger boat.

Gotcha.

If you mean the list of things that need attention. The boat is 5 1/2 hours away from me. I homeschool my kids and own a business. Time is money. I’d rather sell it for a little less than spend a couple weekends traveling down there and working on it.

If you mean why the boat is not a good fit for me. Growing the boat by 10 feet might be kinda challenging. Lol.
