I just encountered a broker/marina owner who said that the cost of moving boats out of the way to do a water trial on the Chesapeake (at 40 degrees today) was 21 per foot of the boat being moved. That is certainly within their right, but the out of pocket cost of moving two boats to retrieve the boat in question is negligible. I would have thought that selling the boat would be more compelling than making money on the slip side.
Is this a common policy, or a common practice?
