I purchased a boat through a broker in Florida. I had the boat documented and just got the paperwork from USCG , all good in my name.
So my question is does the boat still have to be registered with NYS...?

Yes, if you'll be keeping the boat in NY, you need to register with NY even though it's documented. However, you'll only have to put the registration sticker on the bow, no state reg numbers. And compared to some states, NY registration is pretty cheap and only renews every 3 years. When you first register the boat, you'll likely have to pay sales tax as well.

Thanks, I thought that this would be the answer. Thank you for this info.
I guess its time to pay sales tax...

Where is boat? Where are you going to keep boat? When will it get there?

Where the BOAT lives typically dictates whether, and where it needs to be registered.
