TV speaker issues ST35

hey folks

when i turn on the salon tv, it turns on the audio system and selects ARC as an input but then blasts loud static and i cant get the TV audio to work, any ideas?

More info? TV brand? Et cetera?

Our Samsung TV is currently connected to a soundbar and that in turn controls a wireless subwoofer. I think ARC is shown as an OUTPUT from the TV (but that's off-hand, I'm not sure).

Yeah, diff setup, we have a non samsung and no sound bar :-)
