Shower on ST 42/44

Hi, First post..... Lovely forum and so much information!
I’m looking to get back to boating after 15 years without my much missed Piantoni 38 fly and the ST is top of my list. I saw the 41 at the Genoa Boat Show this week.....but at €600K new is out of my range for now. Looking at a used 42/44 but the one thing that SWMBO is hesitant about is the wet head, no separate shower stall compared to the 41. I was wondering if those of you familiar with the 42 think there is any way to adapt the head with say a folding glass/perspex screen/splash guard ?
It may seem a trivial detail when considering which boat to buy, but I suppose we all have our prerogatives!
Many thanks for any input!

Seejay, first off I agree with you, separate shower necessary. (one of the many things that sold me on my AT34)
You will need a pan, drain and shower curtain and a hand held shower.
Only you can determine if there is enough space to accomplish this. If not, move on.

We take an average of 360 showers per year in the master head on our ST44. No issues. The shower in the day head only gets used by guests which we have not had any this year due to Covid.

Hi Seejay,

This 2013 ST44 appeared in a Swedish brokerage site recently. 308 000€ I see that boat is actually in Spain, however. Maybe you already know about it?

You can paste the text into Google translate. If you are still having trouble with the Swedish, let me know and I can try to assist.

my ST44 has a the perspex screen you are mentioning.

No problems, even in wet/cold season, of course if you have an heating system (AC or Webasto)

Vai tranquillo, sono barche eccezionali!

Thanks.
I had a quick visit to an earlier model 44 this weekend which didn’t have any such screen. Which year is yours?
Anyway the shower’s not a deal breaker.
And yes, just the boat for me. Bisogna solo capire se avrei il tempo per usarla come meriterebbe!

I believe Beneteau changed the ST44 layout after it was first released? I.e. the 2011 model may be different from the 2012 + ?

Yes, they did.

I can't tell you the correct year of change, but they did it.

My 2012 has the old style showers. I believe that they changed over to new style in 2014, where the master head has a toilet/shower compartment separate from the sink area.
