So we purchased a 1985 Heritage East with a Mercedes Nanni engine. Can anyone identify this transmission. The survey did not, but stated it was in working order. The ID plate is missing! Thanks for your help! IMG_4783.jpg

Probably a Borg Warner Velvet Drive 71C. But if the engine is 175hp it might be a 72C. Common parts such as oil seals and clutch plates are readily available.

Awesome. Thanks so much.

Definitely Borg Warner 72C.
If you need to you can download a manual online.
When you service it don't forget to remove and clean the filter, refill with ATF fluid.

Looks like the tag might still be on it. On left side in front of dipstick hole.

Yep, BW VD with a reduction. Good trannies, service parts available.

Make sure you can get parts for that Nanni/MB engine.

What MB engine is it? Usually models are OM-something. Oel Motor (diesel).

It’s a 6/570 freaked me out a bit but other than the block all the rest of the parts are Kubota. Great advice though. Thanks much.
