Twin rudder alignment/toe-in

Any idea how much toe-in I need for my twin rudders? 35' sportfish style boat with twin 200hp volvos. I do a mix of displacement speed and planing speed cruising. Is there a formula or 'rule of thumb'?

Us rednecks in North Carolina would get the boat going at hull speed and put a helper in the hole and take the pin out of the clevis for the slave rudder. Then power the boat up to planing speed driving on one rudder. Hold course straight. Adjust linkage so the pin just dropped in. Done.

We used to set toe in on multihulls, good question.

I haven't heard of this being done on monohulls. Toe in kept the cats from hunting downwind. Those rudders are enormous compared to powerboat rudders. I measured my 4788 and they were parallel, very small rudders compared to my Hatteras.

Toe in with dual rudders in necessary to keep the rudders from chattering. It doesn't take much. Just enough to keep tension or compression on the tie rod.
