A friend of mine replaced a Tides seal on one of is prop shafts. His shaft is tapered at the coupler, the prop end, AND he claims there's a taper just aft of the seal. Is that normal? Seems odd to me. Boat is a 2003 Carver 410 Sport Sedan.
