I have a 4045TFM75, and have discovered a strange instrumentation error. My lifetime fuel appears to be reporting approximately 25% low. If it says 750 gallons I've actually burned about 1,000.
When I got this boat last fall I was quite pleased to have the instantaneous and cumulative fuel consumption numbers provided by the fuel management system. I built a graph of reported fuel consumption and load at all speeds, and the reported numbers bumped up well against the published prop curve. I've had no reason to question them until now. I don't know whether the instantaneous readings are correct as I haven't kept detailed run logs. It was only after a couple of fillups that I recognized the discrepancy in lifetime fuel.
Does anyone here have any insight or experience to share?
