I lost reverse in my 73 MT trawler it has a 120 Lehman diesel with a paragon
trans. When I took it apart I noticed the reverse linkage in the trans. had come apart.
I managed to get the reverse lever legs and roller out but the two pins slipped
down to the bottom of the case.

Ordered replacement pins, gasket and O rings. Put every thing together.
Now it shifts fine but neutral and reverse are reversed. Tried turning the
control valve in different positions but made no difference. Any idea what
I have done wrong, besides working on something I know nothing about.
Thanks Curt

Since there’s been nearly a hundred views of your post with no replies, I’ll make a suggestion.
Google Paragon transmission manuals, Paragon transmission repairs and such.
You Tube May also have something relative for you, just use your computer to search it out.

Have searched internet, you tube, found basic info. but not my problem.
Talked to some one who works on these trans. and supplied me with the
parts and blow up picture of the trans.
I needed but over the phone was unable to come up with an answer.
to the shifting problem. I have had it apart and back together three times
to see if I did something wrong, still works the same. Will take it out for a
short sea trial to see how it works. Will keep looking for someone local with
paragon experience. Since they stopped making them in the 80's they may
all be gone by now.:banghead:
