Perkins 6.354 parts

Hi everybody
I gonna rebuild my engine but can't find parts for it. It's a early 6.354 HL non turbo. I found for turbo but not for my engine. It's early nr so no year in number. Head gasket was same as normal 6.354 so I wonder if piston etc are same to? Have talk with some company but nobody know

Armed with your serial number, any Massey Furguson tractor dealer or any of dozens of online places will be able to help you. There are more of these engines out there than even Detroit 671's.

354 is the number of cubic inches
u indicates it was manufactured in UK.
4647 is the serial number
hl are special features, might indicate it is horizontal.

Do you have Massey Ferguson tractor dealers in Sweden? They will be able to help you with the engine parts but you will need to go to Trans Atlantic Diesel for any marinization parts.

I don't dare to ask for engine parts becouse it Probedy gonna cost more then buy a new engine

A friend has done a lot of work on his 6.355t engines. If you tear it down 1st you should be able to match up the parts you need and order them much cheaper than your local dealer. I would guess the major difference in your engine would be the lubrication system, probably a dry sump type. Good luck

The part # will not help you. The part number just tells you the basic RH, LH, block style. What you need is the "build number" which provides all the details, for instance some were built with five rings and some with three. Call Perkins in England, that's what I did and had the proper full rebuild kit on order in minutes. The engine I rebuilt was an HT6-354 (horizontal turbo) with five rings. It had 20,000 hours on it when I rebuilt it. I can't really remember how much but it wasn't as bad as I thought. It had a tiny bit of slap in one piston and did not really warrant a total rebuild but what the hell, I had the time.
Photo was taken just before the rebuild
