I have twin Perkins 4.154s. Under power at 1800 RPM my port oil pressure creeps up to 80 pps. The starboard seems to hold at 60. If I increase RPMs to 2200 the port will drop back down to 60. Any ideas? There is no smoke from the engines which have about 2,600 hours. Both seem to run OK.

First thing i would check is the oil pressure sending unit. Put the port sender on the starboard engine. If the problem follows the sender it is faulty, if it does not follow the sender swap then the gauge is likely the problem. Swap the signal wires to the gauges in the same fashion.

Agree with Stan, sounds like it could be the sending unit. Install a mechanical gauge or swap between engines to test.

Sounds like gunk in the oil pressure regulating spring, if its not the gauge.

Try a good hot oil& filter change , and keep your fingers crossed.
