For those of you with DynaGen TG controllers (I think it’s what NL uses for their fancier control heads) I have a question about the remote panel.
I just got my TG410 and TR100 installed, it’s working fine other than I can’t seem to put the system in Autostart mode from the TR100, it appears this might be a “safety feature” but curious if it really requires a trip to the ER to switch to auto mode or am I doing something wrong.

My system gets a start signal from a Xantrex AGS so worst come to worst I could always leave it in auto and interrupt that when I don’t want auto start on (most times) but I’d rather not add that complication.

Thoughts?
Arthur

I think the main panel is the only place where you can put it in Auto mode, and Auto mode is the only mode where other sources can start the generator. At least that's my recollection.

I do remote stop/start from a PLC rather than the Dynagen remote, and I know in the PLC I needed to check the Auto status and switch it to Auto if it wasn't already. Then could issue a start command. All this is done via Modbus.

Love the plc interface, did you write up the project anywhere? Are you able to change the tg420 to auto via modbus?

I haven't written up the project, but probably will some day.

Yes, the TG420 can be changed to Auto mode via Modbus.

Arthurc, you can set the unit to auto from the remote if you are using TR100 Firmware version 1.92.15 or newer, this can be downloaded for free from cattron.com under the support tab>firmware updates under the Dynagen section.

If you do not have the RapidCore programming software already installed on your computer, you can also download that for free from the website under software downloads in the support section.

Once you've performed the update, you will need to go into your operator setup settings in RapidCore and enable the OFF to AUTO feature.

If you need additional assistance please contact the Cattron support line and follow the prompt to get to the Dynagen support line, you'll want to speak with Richard or Jordan. If they're unsure ask for them to reach out to the Field Applications Specialist, which is me.

As said previous, I recommend you reach out to the support line for any questions on the product, I recommend it even if you have features you wish we supported, as we can use that input to improve our products.

Thanks! Great stuff, great products, and great support. RapidCore works really well too!
