Hi all:
I have a 1979 Perkins t6.354 engine that just emerged from a rebuild. After 10 hours, the cylinder head failed. On inspection, it was deteriorating in 3 places so we were lucky to catch it early before permanent damage set in. The new replacement gasket from Perkins looks a bit different from the old one - there are 3 water drain holes on the left side of the block that were wide open in the old gasket but partially restricted in the new one. Does anyone know why this would be the case?
Thanks,
Mike
