I have 350 HP CAT 3116-TA diesels on my 2000 GB 42C. Anyone know what pressure the radiator caps should be? I'm adding coolant recovery tanks and local CAT parts dealer sold me 13 PSI radiator caps. Got back to boat and current caps are marked 7 (I assume that's 7 PSI).

I called parts guy back & he said he used my engine serial number & looked up what cap to use with a coolant recovery system & that's what his system said was the part number cap to use.

Thanks in advance!

13 is fine. Seen some with 13, some with 15. That 7 was probably put on by some previous owner or mech.

I would put on what the CAT dealer specified and keep an eye on it. People have been known to try and “fix” a coolant leak by lowering the PSI in the coolant system.
