Hey guys.
I have the 5kw Kohler/Yanmar 3TNE68C-EKM generator. I have not found much on the engine and I am in need of the 40amp alternator. I have ordered 2 so far that the company states they fit the 3TNE68 but they have both been wrong. The coolant tank has a corner molded out behind the alternator that allow the positive post on the alternator to fit. Both the new alternators have the post orientated to the top and it will not clear. Does any one have the manual or a part number of the original alternator? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you post a picture of the alternator that you've got?
What is the alternator model number?


Some of them can be "clocked" by removing, rotating, and rescrewing the outer cover, which also has the posts.

Having the positive post that close to the engine scares me. Can you just use a longer belt and get it away from the engine a little?
