What's in your ditch bag / go bag?

Just curious. I'm working on mine.

I'm in AZ and the ditch bag is in WA so I can't check it. This is from memory. Also, I have a 4-man lift raft so YMMV.

EPIRB

The following items are all stored in plastic containers (old food jars) with screw on lids:
lots of first aid stuff
lots of energy bars and candy bars
candles and matches (for heat in the raft)
flare gun and flares
cyallume light sticks
toilet paper

That's all I can think of for now. I'll add more if my feeble old brain can remember them.

If staying in range of a developed country's rescue resources......

After the first 2 PLBs/EPIRBS....maybe a third....everything else is gravy.

But consider a handheld VHF and some water....plus a couple waterproof flashlights.

Proper attire for cold water ...if there... such as float coats and or survival suits without question should be alongside.

Plus your ID packet with credit cards and wallet...phone if you aren't sure you backed up all your contacts...

If traveling far from land and rescue resources...there are some great lists on the net and are too long to retype for me at least.
