repack the life raft

Any recommendations for getting an out of date life raft up to snuff in the Jacksonville, FL area?

Thanks in advance.

The closest to Jacksonville might be Cape Canaveral. Who is the manufacturer? Not all companies certify all brands.

Revere is in Jacksonville, off I10.

I have a Revere so you should call them and see if they do other manufacturers.

When we had ours re-certified, we always went with the raft to drop it off and had them blow it up while we were there. It was pretty cool to actually see it inflated and it also gave us the opportunity to actually see how we’d get into it if we ever had to deploy it.

When you call, make sure you give them the age of the raft. We had a 6 man Toyo life raft that at the 9 year mark they said it was the last time it could be recertified. The raft had a 10 year life according to the manufacturer. We had ours recertified every 3 years.

Revere said no soup.

Datrex said yes they'll take a look at it. The front desk lady said they'll let us pull the chord. That should be a fun and educational experience. I also got some good beta on one of her favorite restaurants in town.

Southern Charm. A hole in the wall place that makes fresh seafood buffet style but is reservation only.

Seems like we've got no choice but to check it out.

I'm taking my 2nd born down with me to check on our boat, drop off the life raft, and scoot over to the west coast to pick up our skiff that will be the tender for us.

Gonna be a good weekend for sure.

Thanks everybody.

We found out the life raft was from 1989. Austin at Datrex was awesome. He let one of my kids pull the chord on the old raft. He hung out with us for a while. Gave my kids some flashlights and told me that my dinosaur was probably not worth repacking. Bummer. But we had a good time regardless.
