Transient Marina Planned for Navy Pier

Looks like you Lake Michigan boaters are going to get a new fun destination to cruise to.

This is absolutely GREAT news. Since the "Loop" is not available to use for a year or more we are planning a week in Chicago then to do the "mini" loop. (Chicago river to the Calumet and then back to lake Michigan then to Chicago.)

Doubt if the new marina will be ready this summer but it is still good news.

We no longer keep the boat at Marinette, we have moved 20 miles south to Oconto. (Should update my T.F. info) but while we were at Marinette we spent a summer watching HUGE garage sized boulders come into Marinette on trucks and leave on barges for the most recent new Chicago harbor construction project.

Probably going to be one of those places that's a hundred bucks a night minimum w/ a 2 night minimum (at least during the summer).

Article indicates hourly rental will be available. I agree with the probable high rates though.
