Hi All,

Looking ahead, if all goes well we hope to move our boat over to the east coast around Feb/March next year, looking for a Marina where we can keep her for a month to complete the upgrades, final checks and provision for the Bahamas crossing. Do any members have any recommendations in the Stuart FL area, say as far north as Ft Pierce and south to West Palm? (we will plan to come over via the Okeechobee).

Thanks! Graham & Tara.

We used Old Port Cove in North Palm as our provisioning and jumping off point for the Bahamas (West End/Abacos). It has easy access to Publix and West Marine. Last time there (2 years ago) they had a shuttle that would drop off/pick up in the area. I understand it's now a Safe Harbor operation so not sure if the shuttle service remains. They also have a nice bar/restaurant on site.

No room at the Inn

Checked out both Safe Harbour sites, same story no availability for Feb, "maybe" they can find a slot for us for a few days at most.

After calling around, the only marina I found with space was Sunset Bay, but they wanted $1,100.00 a week and no breaks for multiple weeks :-( So $4,400.00 for the month of Feb - ouch!

Will have to start hunting further North (or South).

The further south you go, less availabilty and more expensive. Consider Ortega Landing (Port 32 Jacksonville at Ortega Landing) on the St. John's River. This late in the season, finding a slip for just the month of February is a challlenge.

The Harborage in Stuart (before the RR bridge) might have some openings. New Port Cove, Riviera, is a good place to get work done and provision. No frills, except for Palm Beach prices!
