New to me CC Corinthian 380

Hi all,

I have been on the forum for a number of years and I have been boat less for the last 5 years

So for a play around vessel, I pick up a CC C-380 until I can talk the wife into retiring so I can get a Fleming.

Anyways, I hope some of you CC owners will share your thoughts on finding parts or just throw your 2 cents in.

I started to run her home and the starboard transmission failed. So in a few weeks It will be back on the water heading home

Welcome aboard! I've got a 381 Catalina, so different layout but built on the same hull. Feel free to ask if you've got any boat specific questions, as there's a good chance I either have the answer or can point to a source that might.

Which engines and transmissions do you have? Mine is an early build 86 model, so I have Mercruiser 454s with velvet drives. Later boats got Crusaders and velvet drives. Early years had the Chris Craft engines and typically Paragon transmissions. I'm guessing yours is an early boat as the picture shows recessed trim tabs.

I have the 454 crusader and P44 transmission. I know the parts are hard to find for those trans but the yard master where I haul out can get parts foe them.

As far as the trim tap. I didn't raise it up all the way. I thank you for your in put and your offer. As of now I am looking for a starboard vent cap. Cannot find one like the one I have on it.

Post a picture of what vent you're looking for and I'll see if I've got any notes on what a replacement might be.

And yeah, the sightly deployed tabs are how I could tell. On later year 380/381 hulls (like mine) those pockets they recess into aren't present and the tabs extend aft of the transom.

I don't know if you can see it but if you open the aft photo an zoom in you may be able to see it. That's the port side I had to flip the photo to get it to be right side up

If you cannot see it I will take a photo of it when I go back up to MI to bring here home. Only 710 miles to go!

If you're thinking of the vent scoops on the gunwales, unfortunately I don't have a definite source for those (my later year boat doesn't have them). I'd check with Chris Parts and maybe the Commander Club forums for that one.

That's is what I need. I did check those places and it was a no go. I think I will have a friend of mine machine me one. I thinking now that would be my best bet!
