As a kid, I planned to build a log raft and float down the Scioto with my uncle. As an older kid I ran the Everglades' Wilderness Waterway with my dad and Grandpa. Grandpa always had a boat and he taught me navigation, how to use a compass, and how to fish.
Now, as retirement looms on the calendar a decade or so out, I am itching to get back to the water. The Great Loop is our goal and my initial research tells me a trawler is the right boat for me. Glad to have found you folks and I'm looking forward to the ride.
