Gulf Islands Newbie

Hello all from Pender Island, B.C. After 20 years of cruising the Pacific NW we bought a trawler in Florida a few years ago & have been cruising Florida & the Bahamas. Finding the water pretty skinny there compared to the PNW!

robbie,
We lived on "the rock" for the last 8 years. Prince of Wales Island NW of Ketchikan AK. The cabin fever people would say "gotta get off the rock". The "rock" incidentally is 45 miles wide and 145 miles long. Very few places on the rock where you can dig a hole.

Manyboats, "The Rock" to us Canucks pretty much universally refers to Newfoundland. - Boyd

Beat me to it! Until Eric mentioned POW Island, I thought he was admitting to an 8 year stay on Alcatraz!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Hoping to get up to Newfoundland some day Robbie. Grew up in Nova Scotia, so hope to explore that part of the world by boat in the years to come.
