Hello everyone
I’m a new member and rather new owner of a Greenline 39 Hybrid. My previous boat was a 28 Osprey Longcabin with twin 250 Suzuki’s. I am becoming a fan of the slower and more relaxed cruising speed. Really enjoying the extra room and comfort and trolling for salmon with the electric motor in near silence. Seem to be catching more fish. I’m docked in False Creek at the False Creek Yacht Club in Vancouver. Looking forward to sharing experiences and learning from the many members of this forum.

I was speed reading your intro and I read ...."was a 28 Osprey Logcabin" and I went .... what? The Greenline looks like a great boat and trust me, you will still have decent speed if I understand your boat correctly - 18 Knts. Looks like a great boat, but not a trawler but neither is my boat. Your boat is more an express or sedan cruiser.

Sedan and express cruisers aren't considered a "cool" boat so manufactures go out of their way to make something sound like something else rather than call it an express cruiser. For example the Tug line of boats is an excellent example, since when can tugs plane? But what if you make an express cruiser look like a tug and call it a tug, now you've got an audience.

And many of the fast trawlers are less trawler and more sedan cruiser but trawler sounds better. Nothing wrong with any of the above, have boat will travel - at decent speeds.

There is an old saying - Get on a power boat and you are going somewhere, get on a sailboat and you are already there, get on an express (sedan) cruiser and you were there 5 hours ago.

The boats “real” top speed is a reliable 15.5 knots. At 80 percent it does 12 knots. I find myself cruising on diesel between 7 and 12 knots.

Now to make your boat the perfect coastal BC boat, you need soft roll down curtains for your cockpit to be full enclosed so you can go out in weather like we are having now and sit in the cockpit and not get wet in a rainy windy day.

I used to live in Deep Cove till 2016. A great overnighter for you would be to cruise to Deep Cove (and moor on the right or starboard side of the Cove as you come in, not the port side, where everyone does in front of Deep Cove Kayak Center). Go have a nice dinner at one of the restaurants there, stay overnight and head back. Go to Honey's for one of their "donuts" that don't really look like donuts. Kate Winslet was so struck by Honey's donuts she had them flown to her place a few years ago.
